Hi All, I just want to ask if anyone ever tried using medical cannabis as an alternative meds? I have read many articles about medical marijuana and how it can help you in terms of chronic pain, glaucoma, eating disorder/anorexia, anxiety disorders and panic attacks, inflammation, even cancer and a lot more. Like this article about a marijuana strain:Dutch Hawaiian from: http://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/dutch-hawaiian/ . Cbd and thc are also new to me and I don't even smoke. If this is true I cant find any solid conclusive evidence that speaks to its efficacy. Any personal experience or testimonial would be highly appreciated. Thanks
I use cannabis for migraines and it has been the best medicine I have found in 20 years of searching. The only other thing that worked was prescription pain meds. (hydrocodone/vicotin) With the prescription pain meds I would have to re-dose once or twice as the migraine would linger for 8-10 hours, or sometimes 2 days! With cannabis, not only does 95% of the pain go away in about 20 minutes, but the duration of the migraine shortens to about 2-3 hours!
Hi, I had migraines and CBD Oil worked very well for me. THC made me high and anxious. CBD is very healing as well. Problem: finding quality CBD at an affordable price. Most places charge $2.00 per cap of 10mg CBD in BC. 1 was taking 2 caps per day and it prevented migraine as well as overall healing. I would love to take it everyday.
Hello All, I purchased my CBD from a dispensary in Westbank, BC (778)797-0303 The Healing Company. #9-1385 Stevens Road. They have Canada wide shipping. As far as I know you will need a prescription. You can also search the Healing Company on Facebook. They have been in business for 3 yrs and do have a business license.
For MaxGXL (glutathione accelerator) Search glutathione's role in the body. It is our bodies major antioxidate. Companies who sell straight glutathione are a waste of money. The only product I know of that has patented the composition of ingredients to help your body make glutathione is MaxGXL. It is a MLM but I don't sell it. Here are a list of the ingredients: per 3 capsules: vit c - 250mg, l glutamine 750mg,
n-acetyl cysteine (NAC) 375mg, alpha lipoic acid 75mg, (in a proprietary blend 488mg of cordyceps, n-glusosamine, quercetin, milk thistle extract. I'm not sure what the retail price is. Probably cost $75.00 depending if you are in Canada or US. The number is 801-316-6380. Some people will experience detox or healing crisis with it because of it's anti-oxidant properties.
Microdosing sound very promising. Need to look into it deeper.
From my experience with medical cannabis it's all about finding the right strain. Not all strains will get rid of a migraine or relieve pain, or get rid of your depression. Sometimes different people have different reactions to the same strains. There are strains that make me depressed (obviously I avoid these), and there are strains make me happy. There are strains that make me hungry, strains that make me tired, strains the make me neither hungry nor tired. I've been living in Colorado for 3 years and it took me almost a year to find the right strains for me. I found a strain that doesn't make me tired, or hungry, or sad, or anxious, or spaced out.
I also avoid edibles for the most part. Eating cannabis is a different experience than smoking/vaping it. I don't like smoking it so I use a vaporizer that is easy on the lungs. Anyone considering trying cannabis for medicinal purposes needs to be aware that it may take a while before you find the strain that works for you. (or maybe the first time you try it it works and that's great too)
I guess I'm a little defensive when I read someone having a negative experience like bomalley had. I have had negative experiences with kratom (especially early on with head aches etc.) but just kept trying different strains. I have also noticed I experience short term memory loss with kratom on occasion. I have meetings throughout the day and my Outlook calendar reminds me 15 minutes before the meeting. I've noticed over the last few months of kratom use I miss a lot of those meetings so now I set 2 alarms, one that goes off 1 minute before the meeting.
In any case... I'm rambling now...
Okay, so migraines must be a totally different thing than regular headaches. All cannabis ever did for headaches and pain for me is make them worse and make me dwell on them. And believe me. I've damned near tried every strain out There. I guess I have always written the pain relief aspect that's always discussed as people just wanting a reason to get high. But I did try a high-concentration CBD strain that had very little THC. He carried it for a cancer patient client. It worked. Made me a bit anxious, the thc, but pain was gone. I think CBD has some amazing properties. THC I think is great for stomach problems or trouble with appetite loss or nausea.
Just don't fool yourself with all that "weed cures everything!" horseshit. I used it for years and it has most definitely lowered my IQ and ability to function at high levels.
Note: I haven't read the studies about it sending cancer into remission. I wouldn't doubt that, and anything a plant can do to help someone, especially someone whom's life depends on it, should give it a shot. Just don't smoke yourself stupid. Please. I'm speaking from experience. If it's recreational and you're fooling yourself into thinking its medical, stop it. Grow up. It's a vice. Treat it as such and use it responsibly. If you can't, don't use it at all.
Hope that didn't come off as harsh. I've been exposed to so many hippies that said marijuana was a cure-all and would always say they were "medicating" as they took gravity bong hits and ate flaming hot something or others.
Yep, migraines are different from regular head aches for sure. My vision often gets blurry 30 minutes before a migraine. They are terrible. To me, when it comes to migraines, cannabis IS a wonder plant because nothing else has worked this good!
Outside of treating my migraines, I don't have a problem using cannabis as a vice. I only use it at night for a few hours while I relax and watch TV. I used to drink loads of alcohol for about 20 years until I switched to cannabis. My life is totally different now and my family and everyone around me is much happier now that I don't drink.
You may think cannabis has lowered your IQ, but that is contrary to the studies that have been done. Lots of things could be the cause of your lowered IQ. (if it is in fact lower) Do you drink tap water? (or even Brita "filtered" water) Drink alcohol? These are 2 of many things (also age) that can cause brain damage, dementia, or otherwise reduce your cognitive abilities.
I will admit that while I'm high, I can't think as quickly or function at full capacity but that doesn't mean that it's permanent or any more damaging than kratom.
I use CBD for Nerve Pain and anxiety. The CBD's available in dispensaries and from Caretakers here in the U.S. come from cannabis and they are expensive and have more THC in them, even in small amounts. However, over the past six months or so I've learned about CBD's that come from Hemp. I buy them online because of the extraction process used and the potency of this Medicine. I use CBDistillery.com and I swear by their products. There is a difference between CBD's from cannabis and CBD's from Hemp. The Hemp derived are now so pure they make a 99% pure CBD Isolate that you can take in oil, powder etc. Hemp CBD's have .99% THC (therefore the FDA and DEA have decided to not persue a controlling illegal blockade on them therefore they are sold in the US as a THC free supplement) and are not illegal. You don't have to get a Medical Marijauna Card in order to purchase them (in states that have legal Medical Marijauna) and states that haven't legalize medicinal marijuana Hemp CBD'S are a legal supplement anyone of age can purchase.
Potheads will always say Cannabis CBD'S are the only way to go, they're the best. However, the CBD from Cannibus contain only a few of the other cannabinoid's whereas Hemp has THC (a must in order for the CBD to actually function, but Hemp has many more cannabinoids that are good for inflammation, promote New cell growth, help to rebuild damaged nerves and so much more. Cannabis CBD'S are more restrictive but still good. So for me to get the best medicine for my health I use high THC cannabis mixed with Hemp CBD'S to get the best results for pain, but also for repair and prevention. With the severity of Nerve Pain I have I use a 1:1 ratio of high THC flower and very small amount of potent hemp CBD powder, mix together and vape. Instant relief that lasts. I don't have to medicate everyday now that I changed to Hemp.
Please do some research. CBDISTILLERY.COM has on it's web site tons of educational information, they have a blog to learn from and they have studies. I will continue to use cannabis and CBD's when needed for that problem. What's nice is the high CBD'S counter act the intense euphoria of THC, so I can still carry on with my day.
I've been using cannabis since 2013 as a Medicine, Not recreation or escapism and it works for Nerve pain...no need to stop. If a person cannot use it that way then one might think you're a lifer stoner.
I don't lie to myself...and now with another natural like Kratom my body isn't always being poisoned by pharmaceuticals.
Hope this helps someone!

Yup. It did. 🙂
This was interesting. When I was young I smoked pot for work, never for recreation. I needed the hyper focus it gave and it was so wonderful. Fast forward to 10 years ago - I tried to smoke pot to get my hyper focus and what I smoked ma me so paranoid....was glad the spouse didn't have any plywood sheets around or I would have nailed them over the windows! Ugh. I was so disappointed. The pot that's around now is so incredibly strong. I can't remember the name of the chemical, but in the old days there was an equal amount of this chemical in pot to the amount of thc. It stops paranoid or psychotic reactions. In increasing the thc, they've bred that out. And no one has that stuff from the early 80's now! Too bad.
The dust never really gets any worse after the first four years.
