Hello Newbie here.
Hello all,
Just thought I would introduce myself.
Complete newbie that has been reading everything I can about Kratom and that is how I came across this site.
Background:
Two ruptured disks in the lower back and one in my neck do to a fall while working (Iron Worker) I have been on pain meds for years because of it.
A few weeks ago we were out at our clubs observatory putting on a star party (Hence the name, I like to look at the stars and image them) when my pain meds started to wear off. Told a member I would be right back, went and got a pill and a drink of water. We got to talking about pain management and he asked me if I knew about Kratom... ummm no, what the hell is that?? We talked for a few hours off and on about it and he gave me a little Red Maeng Da to try and how to use it. A couple days later while reaching for my pain meds I remembered that he gave me a little to try out. I started reading everything I could online about it, when the pain was getting so bad I needed something I decided to put 1 tsp into a shaker of water. Now the taste is not as bad as people online make it out to be.. Then again, I like foraging for my own edible mushrooms and wild veggies, so that might help. After about 20-30 minutes I start getting a little relief, not much, but I was amazed.. Why haven't I heard of this before??? I did need to take a small dose of acetaminophen to help but that was all.
Really impressed what Kratom has helped me with so far, and I hope to educate myself more with the help of this forum.
Thank you all,
Starhopper

Greetings, I have nothing but respect for the trades and especially the iron workers. I'm a retired underground union laborer with almost the exact same back and neck problems plus I have severe degen. disk disease. Found the site as you did. Haven't tried Kratom yet but am about to make my first order with a sample pack from one of the good friday deals, pain mgmt just isn't cutting it anymore. Hope you find relief!
It will take a little time but once you figure out the strains that work best for you then it's time to find the sweet spot. Everyone is different. I found mine by adding a half mg until I found it. I do recommend a scale. I agree with others that a precise scale is needed however, some people disagree with that and it is ultimately your choice. I will say you are the first person that I have heard that the taste wasn't too bad, LOL. I gag every time when I toss and wash. You might be right in the fact that it doesn't bother you because of your foraging for mushrooms and veggies.
