Rat lungworm disease and fda kratom propaganda

Hello,
I am new here. I just wanted to share my experience with kratom. I caught a tropical parasitic disease in Hawaii called rat lungworm 2 years ago. It is spread by slugs which carry the parasites. You can catch it if you eat greens and other produce that slugs have crawled on. There are a lot of slugs here and the area I live (lower Puna district, Hawaii) 90% of the slugs around here tested positive for it the last time I heard. I go to a rat lungworm survivor's group once a week. There are people that are in wheelchairs because of it. It made one guy go into a coma fro 4 months. It has killed others who did not get treated in time.

Many believe Hawaii is covering it up to save the tourism industry! Everyone I know, knows of someone else who has gotten it. It causes really bad nerve damage. It can be similar to the effects of having a stroke. I got it two years ago and its taken that long to get my health partially back. But the nerve pain has been getting worse. At first I could not see or talk right because of it, and it was hard to think straight. That part has gotten somewhat better. But I still cannot see good enough to drive because of it. It messed up my balance as well . It gave me really bad vertigo and double vision too.

The nerve pain in the lower half of my body is absolutely horrible and unrelenting. Actually, I was almost completely numb at first and was happy I was not in much pain like other people. But then over time, it did not heal right and the numbness turned to excruciating pain 24/7. Kratom was a godsend. They were giving me oxycondone, neurontin, and lyrica, but those did very little. They would not even give my stronger opiate pain medication because the nerve damage is not visible and they acted like it was not real pain. I did not want to take strong opiates anyway.

When I found kratom I was amazed how good it is. Besides the pain, this disease makes you really depressed and run down and tired...mentally and physically. Its like kratom was made for this disease! I don't know what I would do without it. Now I can function and have the energy and will to live again and do things. The fda's propaganda is especially disgusting to me. I would need super addictive and dangerous oxycontin or fentanyl to get enough pain relief, but I don't want to take those drugs. And they just knock me out, not give me energy.

I tried to share my experience with people at my rat lungworm survivor group about how helpful it is, but almost everyone there was brainwashed by the fda's propaganda and turned their noses up at it! Its all over the newspapers and internet. So many people I know are brainwashed by the negative propaganda who I know could be helped instead. I keep telling people that I would not be here talking to them if it were not for kratom. I would be in alone in bed or maybe even have committed suicide by now. It really has been a lifesaver for me. A lot people tell me that kratom is "probably the reason why I am not getting better" because they believe the negative propaganda! Its really frustrating, especially when the opposite is true. I've had friends turn on me because they think I am doing a "bad thing" by taking kratom. I really think we will prevail though to keep it available and I am being positive! I am very grateful for all the people who are fighting to keep our freedoms intact!
