Another MD question regarding the vein color
Are the color variations (yellow, white, red, green) really 100% MD? I have heard the color variations are MD blends.
I may be way off here gman, it is my understanding that MD just means high potency or high alkaloid content. The colors of the vein are related to the maturity of the leaf itself. I think a lot of the different names and blends are sort of gimics to promote sales. This makes it difficult to look for a particular strain among different vendors as they are most likely all different unless they came from the same source. Just stick with what works for you. I could be way off, just what I have come to understand from reading. Have a great weekend!
You get out what you put in....
What's up GMan!
If I have read and remembered correctly, MD does mean that it's high quality like Msolis said. I read somewhere that horned leaf strains are what is sold as Maeng Da, which wouldn't make sense of why some places sell Red Maeng Da and Red Horned Leaf.
One thing I don't believe isn't correct that you mentioned Msolis is that it the colors have to do with the maturity of the leaf (Aside from yellow as I'm about to explain). I'm not 100% sure, but I believe that red, green, and white strains have to do with the type of Kratom plant that it is. In which case, you'd be able to plant a new tree from seeds of a current tree and the leaves would grow with the same color veins as the original. Also, I don't believe there's a such thing as yellow Kratom. I've read somewhere that it is a young white vein plant, and I've also read somewhere that it's the leaves that fall to the ground. Where I come from, we call a yellow leaf on the ground a dead leaf. Who knows, maybe it is dead leaves off of the ground but that does something to the alkaloids 😕 Hopefully one day we know most everything about this plant.
There's definitely a lot of marketing put into the naming of strains, and you've already received the best advice you could get. Avoid the flashy names, stick with what works best for you!
This is why I bought it up. At around 4:58 he mentions there is only one MD.
