Making Kratom Tincture
I want to make kratom tincture for quicker pain relief; and for ease of use; e.g., in a crowded venue or on a long flight, etc.
Plus, I think it would eliminate any detrimental microorganisms from the kratom powder.
I thought I'd follow this recipe:
https://officialkratomforum.com/kratom-tincture-make/ I checked, and Amazon has all the ingredients.
Here's a video by a professional herbalist at TheKratomClinic.com that's also very helpful. He uses
Everclear grain alcohol rather than ethanol (ethyl alcohol).

If you've made kratom tincture, would you kindly share your recipe, your thoughts and insights, and
any advice? I would very much appreciate it.
Thanks! 🙂
I have made cannabis tinctures many times and I will tell you that it would be very difficult to strain the liquid out of powdered kratom. You can try using a coffee filter but it will gum up the filter. You would be wise to use crushed leaf.
For cannabis, I usually use the nut milk bag for a first strain, then a coffee filter for a second strain. After straining the liquid you can then reduce the volume of alcohol using a fan to evaporate the alcohol, or heating up the liquid to 173 degrees F. (boiling temp of alcohol) Be careful not to boil alcohol near an open flame! Sometimes I play it safe and fill a tincture bottle with the tincture and leave it open near a small fan until half has evaporated, then I'll fill it back to the top and continue the evaporation process until I'm satisfied with the volume of liquid. Keep in mind if you use 190 proof Everclear that this is 5% water by volume so there is only so much evaporating that you can do until you have just pure distilled water left. (I have evaporated this as well, which takes a while, until there is only a paste, then you can add some alcohol to this paste to whatever volume you choose)
Again, powdered kratom is not a wise choice to use for a tincture but crushed leaf should work great.
Let me know if anyone here ends up making a tincture. I'd be interested to hear how well it works.
Thanks for sharing your insights and experience. Your feedback is excellent, and very much appreciated!
I'm stocked up on powder right now; but when I get some crushed leaf (maybe red borneo);
I'll give it a go & let you know. 🙂
