Please list your favorite potentiator below if you have one or know of some that work.

I read that magnesium helps which I tried today and can say that it did improve the burn but, also
Made the burn very short.
I plan on trying: valarian, grapefruit, and
Chinese cats claw also

I have heard dxm worksnvery well. I love
Grapefruit and my Conclusion is the effects are amplified and are lasting longer.
Have you ever tried a beer or alcohol? Just like 1/2 a can has done crazy things with my burn.

I could see where the pepper would, as it speeds up the metabolism.

Grapefruit juice is a win. I feel it made my burn last longer duration wise. also felt an increase on the peak of my burn.
Cayenne pepper is next to try

I think C. Pepper with yogurt would be a good idea.

I noticed avocado works, grapefruit juice (but be careful, it interacts with many medications seriously). Also I think the turmeric worked, but then you get orange pee

I bought turmeric from gnc last night. I can notice a huge difference in my burns. im burning less to feel more. definetly a correlation there. to prove my theory I brought a smaller measuring device with me today to see my burn ratio at a smaller size and proven to feel more with 1/2 the amount I usually burn..

note:
I usually use a measuring tablespoon to burn, today I have a teaspoon.

I take 800mg twice a day prior to my burn. They sell them In capsules at vitamin stores and grocery stores. I'm not sure if ginger is one but I have heard cinnamon is one. I plan on trying that too

Not a problem :). I take one before the burn because it says to take 800mg of tumeric twice daily so I do one at a time.

Grapefruit juice has been a great potentatior for me. I like to drink it about 45 minutes before i burn. I also like to combine Valerian root with kratom at night because it seems to make it a little bit more relaxing.

Here is my list of potentiators and just synergistic herbs/supplements that I take regularly:

White grapefruit juice &/or whole grapefruit
- I have one of those plastic manual juicers that doesn't separate the pulp from the juice, so I "drink" the entire grapefruit basically. I try to have one every morning. It certainly helps prolong the duration of the effects but after regular use your body adapts and it seems to be less pronounced.

Magnesium supplements!!
-If you take kratom regularly then you should really consider taking magnesium supplements. Magnesium is a mild NMDA antagonist, which to make a long story short, potentiate opioids and opioid agonists like kratom, as well as helping to prevent the buildup of tolerance. Taking it 40 ish mins before your dose may help but really you need to take magnesium regularly and get the levels of it up to a good level before it will really help.

-Make sure you buy a good kind that is "chelated" or bound to an amino acid so that your body can actually process it and get something out of it. Other versions like magnesium oxide have such a low bioavailability that they are just simply not worth the money. I buy magnesium glycinate and take 200mg elemental magnesium (that's the amount your body will process, not the total you ingest) about 45 mins before my morning dose, and take a couple other doses of magnesium throughout the day before my other doses. I take a total of about 500mg elemental magnesium per day. It has made an excellent improvement in my mood and sleeping patterns

-I've read that something like 80% of North Americans are magnesium deficient due to farming practices that deplete nutrients from the soil and our love of processed foods. Check this for more info on magnesium deficiency http://www.ancient-minerals.com/magnesium-deficiency/need-more/

Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide (DXM)
-The most commonly used cough suppressant ingredient in the world. Also an NDMA antagonist, if you take 15-30mg (the actual recommended therapeutic dose) about 20-30 mins before you take your kratom, it potentiates the euphoric and analgesic effects. Supposedly also helps to prevent the buildup of tolerance but it would have to be taken before every dose for that purpose.
-I buy "Corcidin Cough and Cold" tablets which have 30mg DXM and 4mg chlorpheniramine maleate (antihistamine).

Turmeric
-A lot of people rave about the potentiation they get from turmeric, I'm still playing around with it and varying dosages though, to see before I form an ultimate opinion on its effectiveness for myself. I've been buying powdered turmeric from a health food store and capping it myself. I take it a bit before or with my dose of kratom.

Things that have great synergy with kratom:
-There are many things which don't necessarily potentiate or make stronger the effects of kratom but they certainly mix quite well together. This is a very simple definition of synergy.

Caffeine
-This is a no brainer, drink coffee with a stimulating strain and you will be an unstoppable force! I also find Yerba Maté to go exceptionally well with kratom.

Siberian Ginseng
-I am newly taking this herb in the form of gigantic tablets, 800mg 3x a day. I'm not positive but I think it has been helping to elevate my energy levels and keep them a bit more consistent. The Chinese seem to think it is a cure-all type of herb with many health benefits and uses, and I've got mad respect for them.

Cannabis
-Depending on what kind of effects you desire and the reasons for using kratom, it can go amazingly well with cannabis. I use kratom for a variety of reasons; to energize me, to enhance my mood, to relieve pain, and to relax. If you are using kratom for energy then cannabis probably isn't going to help with that. I find that it can be easy to overdo it and use too much cannabis, as you only need a little bit for the optimum mix between the two. Too much leads to a very spaced-out, zoned out type of effect that is much more pronounced than it would have been had I only consumed one or the other. However, just one or two tokes from a nice sativa strain can really complement the kratom without slowing you down.

-My day looks like this: Kratom only until at least early afternoon, then I smoke or vaporize only a small amount, perhaps 2 or 3 tokes. Once I have decided I will not be taking an additional dose of kratom that day, then I go full-bore on the cannabis 😉 In the evenings, I generally do not take another dose of kratom as I use it plenty during the day and want to keep my tolerance as low as I can.
-However, if kratom for sedation is your thing then combining it with cannabis is simply heavenly. When ultimate relaxation and pain relief is your goal, and you don't necessarily need to have all your wits about you, I find it is much harder to "overdo it" with this combo. A heavy indica strain paired with a nice red veined strain is some of the best natural pain relief and relaxation you will ever experience!

Cannabis edibles & kratom
- Lower than normal doses of both substances taken together is excellent for pain relief and relaxation.

Alcohol
-Not for everyone of course, but I find that since I am very often using kratom I never really care to drink more than a few beers. One or two beers while on kratom greatly enhances the euphoria and analgesia.
-This is obviously not something I am suggesting people do regularly but just my 2 cents on how the two go together. I'm not really much of a drinker but I sure do love the taste of some locally brewed suds!

Hope this wasn't too much of a rambling mess - I'm on my second coffee and second dose of Red Horned kratom 😀 I would be stoked to hear about any other things people have tried and had success with!

Good list. I follow most of it, except I'm putting Siberian Ginseng on my shopping list. And I don't like cannabis or alcohol hardly ever, but I can assure anyone, a couple beers will knock a small person OVER with kratom. I won't do it again. Same with cannabis. Kratom doesn't help me sleep, so I use valerian tea and melatonin. I do use a bit of red with my tea at night to avoid waking up in pain. It helps!
