Stopping opiate abuse Guide

Moderator- if this is posted in the wrong section please let me know. 🙂 As there may already Be a guide on this subject i am not claiming this to be the best method. I am only claiming that this was the best method for myself personally. On top of this information, a good diet, exercise and overall being healthy will be a big help in this quest as well 🙂
Stopping opiates using kratom. I am going to try and keep this short and simple. Kratom has saved my life from my opiate addiction, so i feel i should let others know how to quit opiates using kratom if that is something they wish to do. I cannot guarantee this for everyone but it has worked for me thus far.
Kratom is not a magic cure, meaning it will not quit your addiction for you, but if you are honestly wanting to quit than it can greatly help you with quiting if used properly. Respect kratom and do not try to treat it as a drug, and it can be very beneficial to this task.
Step one. Order some kratom from a reputable vendor. I suggest joining a forum such as ILoveKratom. or something like it. There are plenty of reviews, and even a approved vendor List so you know you are getting quality kratom and service. Plus it is cheaper on these sites than many others i have seen. Just
plain leaf powder is all you need. I would suggest a few ounces to start. Greens and whites worked best for me, some find more releif in the reds.
Step 2. I cannot stress this part enough. I know this will be hard and some cannot do this, but it will be one of the most important factors when it comes to giving up opiate addiction. While waiting on your kratom to arrive try tapering your opiate tolerance down as low as possible. Where u are just on the verge of being sick. Very uncomfortable but to me i found this essential. Kratom did not work until i did this step.
Try and get to a lower dose every day. I suggest this to avoid any cross tolerance issues, so that kratom is effective in smaller doses the way others use it. I found my dose even being a recovering opiate addict was just as low as any new comer to kratom, and i think this was because of tapering my opiate doses
as low as possible prior to trying kratom. It could make the world of difference. If cross tolerance occurs i could see how having to use an ounce of kratom a day for effects could get costly. So again i cannot stress just how important this step is.
Step 3. The Jump. Try and pick a couple days like the weekend where you are not going to be real busy, just in case you have trouble sorting out your kratom dose. Try to not take any opiates the morning starting kratom. When you wake up wait till you start to feel a little rough, then try your first dose of kratom. There are many factors in figuring out how much to take and how to take it. I suggest starting low like 3g. I was suprised to find that this low amount did plenty for me even being an opiate addict. The first few days i would suggest, redosing on kratom every four hours of being awake and no sooner than that. Try not to increase the dose unless you are not getting any releif at all from the kratom. These two days were vital for me. This is when i figured out which dose and strain worked best for me. I found kratom eased all of my withdrawl symptoms, i even returned to work the third day. It helps me control my cravings so i dont return to my addiction, and my overall quality of life has been so much better. I still dose 4 times a day some days but normally just three. I have found kratom still works the same for me and i haven't taken a break yet. Taking a break at least once a month is suggested to avoid a kratom tolerance. I have also noticed the people that continuously increase their dose amount of kratom lose the effectiveness of it and wind up finding less and less relief. Kratom can be used responsibly to continue getting the positive effects from it. If you try and abuse it, it will lose its effectiveness
in my opinion. Try not to take large amounts in search of sleep during this hard time in your life, this also will skyrocket your kratom tolerance. Try sleep aids to help you get sleep. And i would suggest trying potentiators rather than increasing your effective dose if you need a little more relief. Such as grapefruit juice or orange juice, Magnesium taken at night, Vit. C, turmeric, or one of the many others. After a week of this maintenance the worst physical part of your opiate addiction withdrawals should be over and you can lower the amount of kratom used daily if needed and should not have near the negative effects that you would have normally suffered. I would not suggest taking other medications with Kratom, as i would not have any idea of the side effects as i am not on any other medications myself.
For Dosage and strain suggestions, try to look through the forums and look into what others have to say about different strains and vendors. The approved vendors on this site have been great. The one i suggest
for this task to get started is Pharmacy Drop Out's Green Bali. This is a very potent and effective strain but it is not much for energy. Also Green papau from SoCal Herbal Remedies, they have great products and customer service as well as low prices for those on a budget. There is already a lot of info
on this forum about strains and doses so i am not putting many in this guide so i am not just repeating a bunch of info lol. ----I cannot guarantee Kratom will be effective for you , but this is what worked for me and i am speaking from personal experience.----
Kratom helped with- RLS (restless leg syndrome), Vomiting, shaking, muscle tension, headaches, insomnia, cravings for opiates, Cold sweats, depression, foggy mind, fatigue, soreness of muscles, pain relief, and my overall mood through out the day. It continues to help even with the post acute withdrawal symptoms. :-bd
If you need any advice or just someone to talk to for support through this hard time in your life I am more than happy to help anyway i can. I have been an opiate addict for several years and Kratom has given me my life back and i would gladly try to help someone do the same. My personal email is
[email protected] if you need someone to talk to during this process and i do not reply quickly on here. I will not judge and will do my best to help. I can offer suggestions on strains I have tried, i have been researching and trying many strains to try and pick the best ones for this task. This has been a little costly and time consuming but this subject is very personal to me. And i am working very hard to build a more efficient guide that applies to a larger crowd.
I have tried many times to stop opiate use and i wish there would have been a guide for this method the many times i tried. Kratom was a godsend for me and this is the best i have ever felt during this process, so i am doing my best to spread the word about the effectiveness of kratom in this department. I will probably replace this later with a more well written and in depth guide, but i am still doing research on the subject. I really hope this helps at least one person. 🙂 If you have any questions just ask.

I am also currently working on how to quickly and comfortably reset your tolerance to kratom in case you do build a tolerance very quickly, while still getting releif. I will try to post more on this subject within a week or so. :-bd

Really nice work brother. I wish that I stumbled across something like this ten years ago. I look forward to your comfortable tolerance reset guide. I could really use some help in that department.
I feel confident that this post will save lives Levonne. You deserve some sort of award...

I just moved this post to the Kratom User's Guide, so that anyone who goes there will see this right away. I have an idea to post this if that's alright with you Levonne? I'll be contacting you via e-mail sometime today.

Ya that's ok I was not sure where to put it but will remember if I post the kratom break guide I will put it I'm the same place u moved this one to

Have a wee bit better day!

Hello Laurie and very nice to meet you :-h
I hate to hear that your experience was so bad, that is alot of the reason that i posted this, i have had a problem with opiates for only about 10 yrs, and i have had much much worse withdrawls than this time. Also probably the most important part of this guide for it to be effective like it was for me was tapering way down on the opiates prior to the leap into kratom. i had read about cross tolerance so i personally tapered my opiate use down then switched to an opioid while daily decreasing those dose of it as well, then nothing the day i tried kratom. This had to work for me as i was slowly losing everything. So there was some parts that were uncomfortable but staying functional was a must for me. And i have some paws as well but they are not as bad as in the past attempts of stopping. And i agree this guide is just a starting point meant for the first few weeks. This is to get them through the worst of it and i can only speak for how well it worked for myself i dont know how everyone's body would respond to the same stratedgy. And also i was very determined and desperate to get away from my addiction.
This may not work for every opiate addict, but it should work for some, and im not promising them a perfect experience, only that it should be much easier than most other ways to detox and quit. I am very glad to hear you were able to stop as well. :-bd I have had many friends that have still never been able to stop and a few that are no longer with us due to their addiction. And i have tried several different methods to quit an dnone have worked for me in the past. So i am always very happy to hear people that were able to get away from that horrible addiction.if you can offer any insight on what helped you during the process it would be much appreciated. :-bd
Be not afraid of growing slowly, Be afraid only of standing still.

Also there were some breaks in my ten years of use, none were voluntary, mainly due to incarceration and legal reasons. So it was not a solid ten years of use. It was ten years of opiate addiction. With periods of non use, for different amounts of time. The solid time of use prior to this time of quitting was only about 8 months solid. So for someone with a longer time that that of constant use may not benefit from this guide as well as i did.

Wow Laurie. That was one of the most interesting posts I've read here. It's amazing think about how complex peoples stories are. You weren't talking to me, but thanks for sharing just the same. What you said about not having kids to end a toxic bloodline really hit home with me. That's exactly what I was thinking about just the other day. My girlfriend wants kids, but I'm terrified that they will turn out like me. And my father. And his father. Anyway, thanks again for sharing. I hope things are going as well as they can for you.

Have a wee bit better day!

Hey Laurie, glad to hear you're doing well
I think every single person who makes improvements or starts recovering from a scary habit becomes a bit preachy, even if temporarily. Every one. I still tend to ramble forever about me kicking suboxone. It comes from being relieved/elated/feeling free, and kind of being grossed out/scared by reminders of the habit and lifestyle (people who still do it, etc). I think it's just a phase, you're kind of re-learning things. Don't be too hard on yourself, you're only trying to help people!
Good luck with using the extract for your procedure, and hoping your physical therapy/ excersize goes well.🙂
Cori177 could you please give me some advice, I have been on suboxone for over 8 years and have not been able to kick the habit. I really could use some advice from someone who has been there and come out of it. My only alternative is going to be to go to rehab, which is going to cost me upwords of $15,000, which I am willing to pay, to get out of this dam cycle.
It's so dumb, because I haven't been a true drug addict, since I got onto suboxone 8 years ago. It was a miracle drug, back then. And now, it's the chains I live with everyday. 👿
I am about to get engaged and must end this asap, let me know if you have any advice. Thanks again.

Have a wee bit better day!

Hello Zbest :-h
I agree with Laurie that kicking suboxone is its own task i remember it being much harder than other opiates to quit and i did not take it nearly as long as you have. I tried to stop opiates with it once and it was horrible. But i also abused it. If i remember right all i did was switch back to opiates. So i dont got got much info on that particular substance either. I hope you find info from someone who has done that personally. And i wish you the best of luck in getting away from them. 🙂 You can do it :-bd

Thanks for the advice and encouragement, I will do it within the next 3 months, mark my word. My dad offered to cover my insurance deductible, if I went to a 28 day rehab. I was hesitant, because I feel like that's a lot of money for nothing. I would rather go do 30 days in jail, then spend that kind of money.
Thanks again for the hope! I appreciate it guys and I will keep you updated as to my recovery.

Hey guys :-h I thought i would give you guys an update on my progress for those who are curious. :-bd
I am not sure exactly how long now it has been that i am using kratom and have abstained from my addiction to pain pills. I believe i am close to a month and a half or so. If not more lol i should be keeping track i guess haha. But anyways, after stopping the pain pills and switching to kratom i was able to detox pretty comfortably due to the kratom, yet even using kratom i still had some neg effects which is to be expected after stopping an addiction like mine. But it was much easier than all the times i have tried without kratom. But i still noticed alot of PAWS. Mainly like insomnia, mood swings, lack of energy and motivation at times, and loss of appetite, and some minor and some major depression. I would suggest Kratom for the depressed days to help with not using over the depression. Kratom is a great anti depressant for me. These symptoms were all there just not that bad because of the kratom, at about a month and a half i was finally sleeping well and through the whole night, feeling natural energy again even when not using kratom and my moods evened out and have been feeling very normal again, more than i have in soo long ... I know the battle is not over at this stage, but i believe the worst is behind me now. 😛
So i think it is safe to say i could probably quit using kratom and still be past the worst of the neg withdrawal effects from my prior addiction. I have went a few days here and there without kratom to see how i feel and i still feel ten times better than i have in a long time. I am not having any withdrawal symptoms from not using kratom but the longest i have not taken kratom is 3 days. (so i might if i were to stop longer but i haven't tried to yet) I can tell when i dont take it but i dont feel like i have to take it to function or anything anymore. I fear that if i do not keep taking these breaks i might experience the withdrawals you read about but really i dont think it will ever be a problem if i keep taking breaks. I really dont know for sure though because i have not experienced any withdrawals from kratom, but i cannot suggest to someone that taking anything daily for months can be a good idea lol. So i would still suggest the breaks like i do, i take 3 to 5 days off every two weeks now.
So i beleive for those who want to quit opiates but dont want to take kratom longer than they have to, after you are not noticing the paws as severe it is probably safe to quit taking kratom if you wanted. If you notice any withdrawal effects from kratom i would just taper down and off. But note, Paws can last a longer time than just a month or two, i just mean they are not severe for me at this time. You may still suffer from them for awhile, everyone is different.
I still get cravings to get high once in a while because kratom doesn't give me that so i still crave it once in a while, but then i remember how far i have come and decide against it. Kratom is not going to fix that part for you, that is just a decision you will have to make for yourself. I have been tempted several times when it was offered but have been enjoying my new life so i have declined any of these offers. I even had to cut ties with all my contacts so i would have less temptation to use again. Kratom wont do all this part for you that is up to you how bad you want to stay clean and what works for you to stay clean. But kratom can really help you to do this if thats what you want. :-bd
I still have not developed much of a kratom tolerance either 🙂 , All i have noticed as far as a kratom tolerance is that i feel about the same amount of effects every time i take it, which is still 2-4 times a day most days. I can still feel effects when i take a 3g. dose, but my threshold is about 5g. a dose still and i still enjoy the effects every time, and duration is about the same as when i started. I have even quit using potentiators so that my kratom doses are more consitent and have noticed the difference. I find it works efficiently every time this way. I have also quit taking anti tolerance methods, due to it costing extra money to buy turmeric and stuff. Some of them do reduce kratom tolerance but i find i do not need to do this to keep getting effects from kratom. :-bd
Sorry this is so long lol. 😉 So for those who are curious how my guide works after a month or so this is what i am personally experiencing. I cant make any promises how this guide will work for everyone but this is how it is going for me so far. :-bd
P.S. A strong support system is always a good idea while quiting an addiction, support always helps me to stay strong when i need it. 🙂
