San Diego City ban that i think includes Kratom.
Ok, so i was reading on reddit and came across a post that was talking about a city ban that included Kratom in San Diego Ca. I read through it and i gotta be honest i did not exactly understand it all. Here is the link http://pdfsr.com/pdf/san-diego-kratom-2016 i am not sure how true this is, So thats why im asking on here if anyone knows how much truth there is to this article. I have found you cannot trust everything you read on reddit. This is a scary thought because Kratom is still legal in the state correct? All i read was where it seems they threw mitragyna into the list of chemicals or substances not allowed. Any info would be great so i could understand this a little better. Thanks in advance 🙂
i accidentally put this is the wrong section.

Unfortunately, this appears to be true and done intentionally. The AKA is considering what can be done and working on an action plan. The Botanical Legal Defense has an attorney looking into it.
It is a very worrisome trend. If anyone is still buying from smokeshops in Cali, those businesses need to be donating to the AKA, which is the voice of the consumer. All who are depending for their wellbeing, pleasure, and income on kratom need to get behind the fight, which just intensified.
Donate to the American Kratom Association and get our T-shirts at http://iamkratom.com and help us stand up for your right to consume this herb.
😉
Is there anything just the average person can do to help along with donating? I personally plan to donate a little every paycheck but I was curious if there is anything else a person can do.

I work at a hospital in San Diego. I just read this last week five minutes after buring some kratom. I am going to live on the edge and bring kratom to work but have it in a ready made drink.
That's terrible news. I'm not shocked though. These bigger cities in California seem to do like to ban things that are otherwise legal.
Be careful out there gman.

I am not going to bring kratom packs to work anymore. I will just make my kratom green tea latte or mixed with true lemon drink mix.
I really hope it doesn't become a trend. I really do not understand the kratom bans. There are far worse legal things one can get there hands on to get high. I know in my active addiction before I wanted to stop kratom would not have been something I choose to get a high. Even as far as legal options for a high kratom would have been on the bottom of the list.
Sorry this happened to u gman

I believe that PDF file is a lie and only created to get some controversial & viral content to someone's websites.
It's uploaded to a PDF sharing site, that tells you a little bit right there. Not to mention, the quality is terrible. Maybe I am wrong, but could anyone else weight in here, there are no facts on this ban. I will call the government tomorrow and ask them if this is real or not.

It seems to me that banning kratom may have been included in San Diego, not because the homeless are buying it and getting wigged out, but because it is a MAJOR source of income for smokeshops, which many cities don't like.
By hitting the smokeshops in the pocketbook, the city may hope to drive them out of the pricey real estate of downtown San Diego, perhaps reducing the drugged-up homeless presence there to some degree, too. It may be part of a "gentrification" effort to beautify the downtown area and raise property values (and taxes on those properties).
The same thng is happening with a proposed ban -- only on kratom SALES, not possession -- in Suffolk county, NY (Long Island) -- where the county has driven one big smokeshop out of business already. I'm thinking this may just be a convenient, publicly-supported excuse to get rid of what local politicians see as a disreputable business that is requiring police and emergency services calls that are costing them money.
😉
I am wondering how much are they enforcing the ban. I haven't seen anything on vendors pages saying they cannot ship to San Diego.
Gmantheman: I just talked to a vendor in the San Diego area and he hadn't even heard of the ban. As I said below, I think this may mainly be directed at brick & mortar retailers in the downtown area, plus convenience stores that sell kratom and the Spice, K2, and Bath Salt-type stuff.
I'm not an attorney, but I don't see how the city can interfere with mail delivery, which is a federal issue. (I'd like to discuss this with a good attorney.)
Cities that choose to ban kratom. mistakenly thinking it is causing problems, are shooting themselves in the foot and hurting a booming small business enterprise that are creating jobs and tax revenue for the very cities that foolishly may shut them down.
Honestly, I haven't heard of much enforcement apart from seizing products from storefront retail businesses -- and that wasn't in the San Diego area.
😉
I hope there is way you can fight back and make it legal again.
