What year did you begin? Organic Green Roots began in the spring of 2017. We planted 3 acres of hemp the first year and expanded to 10 acres over the following years. What was the motivation for starting your company? In 2017 my 13 year old pug, [Potato] suddenly developed a seizure condition. I didn’t want to chain him to harsh pharmaceuticals with damaging side effects, so I sought out safer alternatives. I gave Potato a full spectrum hemp tincture and within 24 hours he was seizure free. Within a week he was showing additional benefits, such as increased mobility and balanced energy. I felt so grateful to help him and I wanted to help others obtain the benefits of hemp. I left my job at a cannabis nutrient company and 4 months later, I utilized my background in horticulture to start the farm. What are your future plans for your company? We plan to increase our product line to include more retail products. For many years we primarily sold raw ingredients (organic hemp flower and concentrates), but we have expanded with topicals, tinctures, gummies and more. Several new products will be released this year. We also have plans to open a retail location. What separates your company from others?
