What started out as a search for natural solutions to common health problems sparked a need to learn more about Kratom, CBD, and other emerging alternative botanicals. Unfortunately, we learned an unpleasant truth about the industry: many products are poor-quality or simply don’t work.
After searching locally and internationally and trying dozens of products, we realized there was a need. So in 2016, we created Kats Botanicals. Today, we have grown and a lot has changed, but why we do what we do and who we are hasn’t.

Q: What year did you begin? A: I started Kats Botanicals in 2016 right around the time the FDA convinced the DEA to schedule kratom.
Q: What was your motivation for starting your company?
A: At the time I was unhappy with my current business which was a national tennis coaching business. After doing it for so many years I wanted to try something new and it was the best decision I have ever made.
Q: What are your future plans for the company?
A: My plan for my company has always been the same. We strive to do our best for our customers. No matter how big Kats Botanicals gets, I promised my customers in 2016 that we will never stay complacent and continue to improve all aspects of the business. In September we will be cGMP approved. I am excited to take my company to the next level because that is what my customers deserve.
Q: What separates your company from others like yours?
A: I think the main difference between us and others is how involved I am with my customers on a personal level. I am the face of my company and love interacting with my customers. I think some people get very surprised when I message them or email them because they think CEO’s of big companies have better things to do but that is actually the complete opposite of how I think. The emotions of my customers and what they want is very important for me so I love being involved and communicating with them all week long. We also take quality to the very next level and invest in our partners overseas to ensure that we are harvesting the best kratom products and processing them in state of the art facilities overseas. This was a big investment on my end but it has paid off because the truth is, kratom is not a consistent product. It is very hard to import even 1000 kilos of kratom and ensure every kilo is top quality simply because of the nature of how it’s grown and other outside variables like weather conditions. Therefore, importing 20+ tons a month is even harder to maintain quality and consistency. We invest a lot of time, resources and money into our operation overseas to make sure our kratom is high quality and consistent. We are setting a precedent with how we do business in the kratom industry by not just having a facility here but multiple facilities in Indonesia. The only way to properly harvest kratom from multiple regions that are far apart from one another is to have multiple facilities across the country. Imagine trying to harvest kratom from the Bontai region but your facility is 500 miles away. It won’t be possible to harvest and then process that kratom unless you have a facility closer to that location. I take great pride in providing our customers the very best variety in the industry and we are continuing to improve that aspect. We are harvesting all over Indonesia to accomplish this.
Q: What are your top 5 products and why?
A: It is tough to simply categorize our best products as top 5 so I will be more generalized when I answer this question. We put a lot of effort into who we buy our kratom from and how we process that kratom. My company has worked with one supplier for about two years and recently added a second supplier to help facilitate our goal to provide a wide range of kratom products all over Indonesia. As I explained above, importing many tons of kratom a month and keeping consistency is not easy so our kratom products are one of a kind and we put our soul into the work to ensure quality, safety and consistency.
Aside from our kratom products I believe our CBD products are the best in the industry, especially our High Potency Full Spectrum CBD oil line. We have a personal relationship with a small farm in Colorado and all of our hemp is grown in the high altitude of the Rocky mountains which preserves the potency of our hemp. The reason we choose to work with a small farm as opposed to a big company is simply because Kats Botanicals only wants to sell the very best products to our customers. The control we have per batch is incredible. The evidence is all in the pudding as they say. The beautiful amber color of our oil and strong aroma which signifies that our Oil’s terpene profile is very powerful. So many benefits come from the Terpenes themselves so we take great pride in knowing our oil is filled with delicious Terpenes. However, we don’t just use our nose or taste buds to confirm the high levels of terpenes in our CBD products but we also batch test for terpenes levels in our CBD oil line to confirm our suspicions.
Q: What specials do you offer? A: Kats Botanicals does sales every month and we also offer a 15% discount for life for all veterans or anybody on disability income. Kats Botanicals supports our Veterans and Military and we also feel for anybody who is on disability income and needs their botanicals. I understand that not all people can buy as much kratom or CBD as they want and struggle day to day so I want to make sure my company helps those people as much as possible.
Q: Tell us more about your customer service?
A: I think the reason Kats Botanicals has been so successful is because I have been so involved since day 1 with my company’s customer service. To me the most important aspect of this business are our customers and it is my duty to make sure everyone is happy. It was very tough letting go of the main customer service channels because I thoroughly enjoyed communicating with my customers via those channels but I simply didn’t have enough time to work on other aspects of the business which also would benefit our customers. It wasn’t actually that long ago that I finally hired someone to take over those main channels. Sasha Ritchie has been a customer of ours since almost inception of the company and later became an admin in our Facebook group. She has always shown strong support for Kats Botanicals and also helped me in so many ways for years and for that I admire her a lot. She knows my goals and how I want my customers treated so she was the perfect fit to take over customer service and she has done a fantastic job!
Q: Are your cGMP certified?
A: Kats Botanicals will be cGMP certified this September. However, we take great pride in our process and currently are in a 6000 sq ft facility and have already implemented good manufacturing practices. All of our products are batch tested for safety and we are constantly improving the process. Covid-19 slowed down our timeline to finally become certified but we are back on track and simply have a couple things left to accomplish to become audited.

A: Kats Botanicals is listed as a top vendor on many websites and we have thousands of reviews online dating back to 2016.

A: Kats Botanicals began during the crisis of 2016 where the FDA convinced the DEA to schedule kratom. I was sick and tired of what I was doing at that time and have been in the tennis business since I was 18 years old. I knew it was time for something new. I ended up importing about 100 kilos of kratom and started messaging people on facebook if they wanted free samples to try. I do not try to be someone else or try to act more professional because I am a business owner. I simply have always and still do act like myself and this genuine attitude resonated with many people very fast. At the end of September the DEA backed off and didn’t schedule kratom so I started a Facebook group and things took off from there. My attitude went from wanting to start a new business and make extra income to being completely blindsided with love from people all over the country. I would get postcards every week from all age groups and demographics thanking me for the work I am doing and thanking me for helping them get high quality products. This inspired me more than anything in my life. Not only did I have a successful business that was growing fast but most importantly, I finally for the first time in my life am truly helping others become happier. I finally had developed self-worth and motivation to succeed in life after many years of struggling with the fact that I was like a lost puppy who was not motivated to do anything to advance myself. This is my main motivation since then. Providing a great service and quality of products that make others happier with their life and help them get through their issues. I love my customers and like I said earlier will continue to strive for nothing but the best for them.
