In Sense Botanicals & Gold Leaf Botanicals
Many of us have learned about Kratom because we are looking for alternatives to pain medications and pharmaceuticals. The same is true for Rob Nichols. Rob is the owner of, not just one , but two Kratom companies. What makes his companies unique is that one sells Wild Harvest Kratom and the other sells Plantation grown Kratom. Among selling premium grade Kratom products he offers other botanical products like Lions Mane, Blue Lotus and other natural treasures.
Our dream is to make the wonderful world of Kratom accessible to everyone. We work hard for you, our friends!
The I Love Kratom forum has had the pleasure with working with Rob and his awesome team over the last couple of years. They are a collective group of people that show a lot of passion for this industry and take pride in every aspect of their business. They have a facility with a properly built clean room to process their products and expedite orders. With beautiful and user friendly websites, packaging and plenty of positive reviews about their customer service, the ILK forum wants to shine a light on their professionalism and excellence. We like to see this industry moving in a positive direction. In Sense Botanicals and Gold Leaf Botanicals are raising the bar for online companies in their industry.

Interview with Rob the Owner of In Sense Botanicals and Gold leaf Botanicals...
ILK: Tell us a bit about yourself and how you came to know kratom products?
Rob: I have always worked in public service jobs, including serving in the military as an army mechanic, construction for 25 years, and eventually I developed chronic pain. I was told by doctors that I would need to be on opiate pain killers for the rest of my life. My boss at the company I was working for at the time had a suggestion for me… Kratom! The relief I felt was amazing, and I wanted to share this revelation with anyone experiencing pain like I had.
ILK: How long were you a customer of Kratom Products before you decided to start your own brand?
Rob: I was a customer of other Kratom vendors for about two years before I decided to start my own brand. I found that the Kratom offered in stores and online was very poor and often overpriced. I learned a lot about the industry and the products and used what I learned to create a better company than those I had experienced.
ILK: What was the key driving force to start your own company? What drives you to continue? Rob, why have you decided to have 2 brands?
Rob: Starting my own Kratom company was something I felt I had to do after learning of the poor conditions of the market five years ago. Vendors were charging way too much for their products, the quality was questionable, and if you ask me, good Kratom should be accessible to anyone who wants or needs it. I have two companies so that one, Gold Leaf Botanicals, can be dedicated to Wild-Harvested Kratom products. And the other, In Sense Botanicals, is dedicated mostly to plantation Kratom. We strive to provide a range of high-quality Kratom products all the time.
ILK: Your Company seems to have a loyal customer base. You don’t need to tell us all your secrets but could you share a bit of how that came to be?
Rob: I believe we’ve built this amazing customer base because of our authenticity and consistency. From day one, we’ve made our customers our priority, always picking up the phones when they call, going the extra mile to customize orders for people, resolving any issues that occur quickly, and so on. Despite the company growing and expanding, we still operate like a mom & pop shop, putting our relationships with our customers first.
ILK: What is the culture like within your company? What would your employees say about you?
Rob: The people behind the company are wonderful. They really make an effort to get to know our customers and what they order. Our culture is very much mom & pop shop, where we keep close relationships with our customers and focus on meeting their needs. My employees would say that I’m passionate, goal-driven, and focused on creating the best Kratom company out there.
ILK: What is the typical day like for the owner of a kratom vendor?
Rob: My days are pretty much non-stop as we work on expanding the company. A lot of work goes into adjusting our processes to meet the ever-changing legal standards that are in place for Kratom. We also maintain constant communication with our suppliers and lab-testers to ensure that our products are top-quality. However, the most important job that we’ll always prioritize our time for, is customer service. I spend a good chunk of my day on the phone with customers, helping them pick out products and place orders. My life is busy, but I love it!

ILK: What are your go-to strain and a typical dose? What is your choice way of taking kratom?
Rob: I enjoy many different strains, and I like to change things up often. But my go-to’s are usually Fuzzy Dragon Blend, Red Dragon Blend, and White Hulu. If I need something a bit stronger I’ll go for an enhanced version. Our Enhanced products are unique because they’re high in Mitragynine and other alkaloids.
ILK: Do you have a favorite Kratom Recipe?
Rob: If by the recipe you mean blend, then yes! I love our Fuzzy Dragon and Red Dragon Blend, and we’re always testing new combinations of Kratom to make the best blends out of it.
ILK: How do you see the industry unfolding over the next couple of years? What can people do to help?
Rob: Over the next couple of years, I see Kratom becoming more accessible. I see good information spreading, more clinical tests being done, and the legality of Kratom becoming more widespread geographically. In Indonesia, Kratom is on its way to earning medicinal status, and hopefully, the rest of the world will soon follow. My dream is to make Kratom available to everyone. This involves legalization across America, educating the public and lawmakers, and maintaining affordable prices. I plan to continue participating in the battle to keep Kratom legal because this amazing plant needs to become and stay a regular part of our society.
ILK: What are some issues that you can see with the Kratom Industry?
Rob: While the Kratom industry is still forming and growing, there are some issues that I believe will be overcome with time and the hard work of Kratom advocates. For example, the lack of accessibility for everyone. Kratom is still illegal in many parts of America, but that gap is slowly but surely closing.
ILK: What would you say to someone new to kratom or someone who is interested but has not tried it yet?
Rob: I would give them a light education on the plant, the history of its use in medicine, its chemical properties, and I’d recommend a great starter strain such as Red Bali or Green Maeng Da. It’s important to boost the benefits of Kratom to someone when you have the chance because the internet is loaded with bad and false information about the plant.
ILK: Tell us a secret about kratom or the industry?
Rob: Many “strains” that are perceived as single-origin are actually combinations of multiple strains; they’re basically blends.
ILK: How do you feel about the American Kratom Association?
Rob: I think that if the AKA weren’t around, Kratom would have been outlawed a long time ago. So for that, I’m grateful to the American Kratom Association.
ILK: What should a kratom customer look for to find a proper vendor?
Rob: Some important things to consider when finding a Kratom vendor include their quality control, their pricing, and their reputation. Quality is crucial, so always be sure that a vendor lab-tests their Kratom, and that they only sell the cleanest possible products. As for pricing, many vendors take advantage of their customers and charge way too much for their product, so don’t waste your money. And lastly, reputation is important because the experiences that other customers have had can tell you about the company’s products and customer service.
That was excellent! Just an hour ago I took some of the In Sense Botanicals Dark Red MD, as it works well at night, as well the daytime.
The Dark Red MD is a long-time favorite of mine 🍃. I just feel peaceful and focused. Not bad for a rainy day, Monday, or any day. I take it in rotation because I was actually dosing reds and greens, alternatively, day to day, and only two whites. I love the greens and reds, but I have had very good quality WHITE leaf, recently. Riau and Hulu, and white Borneo.
Long live ISGL and Ron Nichols! The man who busts his a$$ day to day and talks to customers like me anytime I need help or want to try something new! 5 star ⭐️ company.
Thank you Babel-17,
Many don’t realize that many of the different types of Kratom are in fact good for both the night and the day. It really depends on each person, as well as the amount used.
