I take a lot of supplements
I take a lot of supplements, and I mentally, and physically by way of where I store them, separate them by what I consider to be my daily additions (mostly vitamins and minerals) to what I get from my food, and those I consider more exotic, and also more desirable to cycle.
There is some overlap, as I take, for example, Ginkgo Balboa 5 days a week, along with my vitamins and minerals. Other than C&D and a few others, I also only take my vitamins and minerals five days a week.
My five day a week intake of those broken into two parts, morning and evening. Lol, it's a lot of stuff.
SAMe (perhaps to be avoided if you are naturally hyper, but often a boon for tired and achy older folks due to it being a potent methyl donor, though even they need to be on the lookout for feeling manic when first adjusting to it), Vitamins B, C, E, and D, along with Beta Carotene for A, though some regular A once in a while is also supposed to be good to take. Vitamin E and B-complex can come in a variety of formulations, so too even C, especially when it's in a complex with co-factors. E for example, is like this. "The vitamin E family comprise four tocotrienols (alpha, beta, gamma, delta) and four tocopherols (alpha, beta, gamma, delta). The critical chemical structural difference between tocotrienols and tocopherols is that tocotrienols have unsaturated isoprenoid side chains with three carbon-carbon double bonds versus saturated side chains for tocopherols (see Figure)." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tocotrienol
"Other supplements" includes amino acids like Theanine, DLPA, Agmatine Sulfate, and Glutamine. Some others on occasion as well. Herbals like Skullcap, Valerian Root extract, Passion Flower extract, Lemon Balm extract, Incarvillea Sinensis, and Magnolia Bark extract. Ginger Root extract for its supposed aid with tolerance, and its tonic like effects. Black Seed oil for its health benefits, pain relief, and tolerance benefits.
It's a really long list of daily supplements, it includes not well known ones like Vitamin K2 Mk4, to help with absorption of Magnesium and Calcium, and to keep Calcium off artery walls. I take two forms of Magnesium, and trace minerals as well, in addition to Zinc and Selenium, two very important minerals, imo, that are less well known than Calcium and Magnesium. And that's worth mentioning.
Lol, I'm going to forget some. Uh, there's soil based probiotics, Dr. Tobias brand because it was the best deal I could find, Ashwagandha, with my five day a week vitamin routine, for its Ginseng like adaptogenic benefits, and possible benefit with tolerance. Rhodiola Rosea, standardized to salidrosides (though I think all good ones end up being about the same), for its adaptogenic affect, and serious boost to energy if not taken all the time. I use that more as "In case of emergency".
I occasionally take some exotic stuff based on Russian research which I won't mention, as though they have a history of being safe, we don't have much data here in the West on them. And some other nootropics that are also pretty safe when used as recommended, but it seems that those recommendations are usually ignored.
P.S. I take Now brand's CurcuBrain for its good pricing of the ingredient Longvida Optimized Curcumin Extract.
I take Astaxanthin, Lycopene, Lutein, and Grape Seed Extract. I take Glucosamine Sulfate, kelp based iodine, Bacopa (supposedly helps cognition), and I use some coconut oil, and occasionally hemp seed oil. CoQ10, R-Lipoic Acid, Lithium Orotate, Natto-Serra (Nattokinase - Serrapeptase), Life Extension Comfort MAX – Honokiol & Pea (palmitoylethanolamide), and Doctor's Best Fully Active Folate with Quatrefolic.
P.P.S. I just used the last of my Skullcap today, and I hadn't reordered because I both like to take breaks from my supplements (cycling them), and because my kitchen table, cupboard, and counter top, are intimidating to look at given how crowded they are with bags of Kratom, and bottles and bags of supplements, lol.
But I think I'll bite the bullet the next time In Sense Botanicals/Gold Leaf Botanicals has a sale on Herbals, as the stuff I get from them justifies a bit of stockpiling, and the last bit of Skullcap I took today was very, very, nice. 🙂
Aloha!
