Hamilton Morris has become quite famous as an American journalist, documentarian, and scientific researcher that has covered the topic of Kratom on quite a few platforms such as Vice on HBO as well as a contributor to Harper’s Magazine. He is the creator and director of the television series Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia, in which he investigated the history, chemistry and cultural impact of various psychoactive drugs. Also known as Ethnobotany, the study of how people of a particular culture and region make use of indigenous (native) plants.
Hamilton’s documentary series, Hamilton Morris has become widely popular. Hamilton’s Pharmacopeia premiered on Viceland on October 26, 2016. He is also the son of Oscar-winning documentarian Errol Morris. Hamilton’s work is driven by research and his apartment is filled with books on the subject.
He takes it further by going to where the plants are used to experience them for himself and find out what happens to the people who use the substances. He studies quaaludes in South Africa, Kratom in Indonesia and traces the history of substances while traveling across America to speak with industry experts about the substances.

His show ended in 2021 and Mr Morris will be advising COMPASS on research related to new psychedelic compounds that could be developed into therapies in areas of unmet mental health.
